A major decision has been made to launch one of the country’s largest shrimp farming projects this year, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Official sources revealed on Thursday that Punjab will initiate its first shrimp farming project on 1,000 acres, aiming to produce over 100 tonnes of shrimp.

The Punjab government will support the project with subsidies, land, and essential resources.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a new research project focusing on fisheries and shrimp farming is set to commence.

The Fisheries Farms Associations have expressed their appreciation for CM Sharif’s initiative.

In line with the CM’s directives, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb recently held discussions with a delegation from the associations to review the project’s details. Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb promised the Punjab government’s full support for the new shrimp farm project.

The meeting with the Fisheries Farms Associations focused on collaboration to launch the initiative, which is expected to benefit the private sector and revolutionize farming in Punjab.
