ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is marching to the country’s capital today with a firm commitment that the party would “break through any barriers” to reach D-Chowk.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that PTI would not return without achieving its objective. Despite extensive security measures and the government’s refusal to grant permission for the planned protest, PTI remains resolute in its plan for a protest rally today (November 24).

Earlier on Saturday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi contacted Gohar to inform him that the government would not authorize any sit-in or rally in Islamabad due to heightened security concerns surrounding the official visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Naqvi emphasized that the government was bound by the Islamabad High Court’s directive, which restricts public gatherings that could disrupt security during international visits.

Naqvi shared the schedule of the Belarusian delegation’s visit, which will span from November 24 to 27, and reiterated that, given the circumstances, no protests would be allowed in the capital.

In response, Gohar stood firm, stating that the final decision rested with PTI’s founder, Imran Khan. “Final call means final call,” Gohar said, asserting that Imran Khan’s instructions were non-negotiable. “Khan sahib is Khan sahib. He is the boss.

He doesn’t recommend, he orders, and we follow,” Gohar added in an interview. He further clarified that the PTI leadership had already discussed the matter according to Imran’s directives and there would be no contrary decisions.

While Gohar acknowledged his conversation with Naqvi, he said that no commitment had been made on when PTI would give a final response.

Regarding the Islamabad High Court’s ruling, which declared the planned protest unlawful, Gohar argued that the matter was still pending and said the court’s order was not final.

Earlier on Saturday, PTI’s Secretary of Information, Sheikh Waqas Akram, reiterated the party’s stance, declaring that PTI would push forward with its plans despite any opposition.

“We will break through any barriers to reach our destination at D-Chowk,” he said, reinforcing the party’s commitment to its objectives.
