The Punjab police have decided to seal several locations in Islamabad and Rawalpindi today (Saturday) ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
The Punjab government has also imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi district for two days.
The move bans all kinds of gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, jalsas and protests.
All political gatherings, rallies, and protests, as well as the carrying of weapons, have been banned in these districts over the weekend.

Which roads are blocked?
Due to the PTI protest, some key locations in Rawalpindi, including Fateh Jang Toll Plaza, Kacha Stop, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Shamsabad, Faizabad, IJP Road, Double Road, Katariyan Bridge, Pandora Chowk, and Khanna Pul, will be sealed off.
Similarly, Islamabad will be sealed at T-Chowk, Koral, Khanna, Faizabad, IJP Junction, 26 Number, Golra Mor, B-17, and Margalla Cut on GT Road.
These areas will be blocked using a three-tier system of containers, dumpers, loaded trucks, and barbed wire.
The road entering Murree from Islamabad has been sealed off. The Metro Bus service has also been suspended between Saddar and Faizabad.
Morever, over 4,000 officers with anti-riot gear will be deployed in Rawalpindi to maintain law and order.
The leaves of police personnel in Rawalpindi have been cancelled, and all officers currently on leave have been recalled to duty.
Where and when is the PTI protest?
The party has announced Liaquat Bagh as the venue for the protest, which was earlier planned to be a jalsa.
However, PTI founder Imran Khan later changed the decision, saying that the government would not allow.
In a video message, PTI Punjab acting president Hammad Azhar said the party would hold a “peaceful political public gathering” at 2pm.
