RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi district administration has issued a travel advisory amid severe weather warnings for snow in Murree.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted heavy snowfall and rain in Murree and surrounding areas.
The Met Office expects the weather to persist until January 6.
As a result, a travel advisory has been issued for people who want to travel tourist spot Murree.
As per the advisory, the authorities have urged travelers to adopt safety guidelines and check weather updates from reliable sources before planning trips to Murree and Galiyat.
Local administration and traffic police are on high alert to assist tourists.
Service centers have been established at 13 locations in Murree to guide visitors.
The City Traffic Police has deployed 200 wardens to manage the expected influx of tourists over the weekend. Murree’s Chief Traffic Officer, Mughees Ahmad Hashmi, called for strict adherence to directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and senior police officials.
