ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened the federal cabinet meeting today (Monday) at 4 pm.

A 21-point agenda will be discussed in the cabinet meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s House.

The cabinet will accord approval to the establishment of courts to hear crimes under the Lawyers Welfare and Protection Act.

The tariff of eight plants, including JDW, Chiniot Power, Hamza Sugar, Almoiz Industries, Thal Industries and Chanar Energy Limited, producing electricity from the sugarcane waste will be reviewed in the cabinet meeting. 

The cabinet will also discuss whether to allow federal ministers and secretaries to travel abroad in the business class.

It will also decide the fate of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Amendment Bill, 2024.

The report of the cabinet committee on stabilizing urea prices will also be reviewed.

Approval of the renewal of the MoUs related to Pakistan Chairs abroad and the establishment of the Islamabad Central Business District Development Authority are also likely.

The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation will be declared a strategic state institution.

The cabinet will also discuss the reconstitution of the National Pricing Committee for Medicines.
