A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Hajj flight, PK 839, made an emergency landing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia late on Friday.

According to a news report, a passenger claimed to have heard an explosion during the flight. However, according to a PIA spokesperson, the pilot received a high-temperature warning in the cargo cabin during the flight, prompting the decision to make an emergency landing in the Saudi capital.

After a thorough examination of the aircraft, it was determined that the warning was false. Subsequently, the flight departed for Jeddah following a quick check.

The Hajj flight had taken off at 10 pm from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi bound for Jeddah. However, it was diverted to Riyadh due to the emergency situation.
