People at Lahore Book Fair mostly focused on the food present there instead of the books.
According to reports, only 35 books were sold at the event, while attendees bought over 1,200 shawarmas and more than 800 plates of biryani at the event.
It is perhaps ironic that the book fair which was organised in Lahore, generally considered the cultural and literary centre of Pakistan.
Many book fairs take place annually in the city which attracts people from the different areas of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s second-largest city has historically been a hub for intellectual and literary activities.
The incident was also discussed by many people on social media.
In another news, Lahore has once again been named the world’s most polluted city, according to the latest data from Air Index Quality (IQAir).
The latest report from IQAir reveals that Lahore has surpassed the 400 US AQI mark and the air quality reached a hazardous level
The AQI measures the concentration of various pollutants in the air, including fine particulate matter (PM2.5), coarse particulate matter (PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and ozone (O3). An AQI above 125 is considered “unhealthy,” while an AQI above 150 is classified as “very unhealthy.”
The Punjab government has also launched the ‘Anti-Smog Squad’ which will visit smog-affected areas.
