BANNU: Three young children were killed when a mortar shell exploded near a religious seminary in Sub-Division Wazir of Bannu district on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place in the Speentanga Janikhel area, where students from a local madrassa found a mortar shell. They started playing with mortar shell during which it exploded.

As result of blast three children including two brothers were killed. The brothers were identified as Zeeshan and Wahab, sons of Obaidullah, and another boy identified as Alamzeb, son of Jahangir.

The boys were returning from seminary to their homes when this happened.

The locals complained that no action had been taken even after the administration had been informed about the mortar shell.
Last Saturday, a live mortar shell blasted Lower Kurram Tehsil, KP, killing three kids and injuring five others.

A woman and her four children died earlier this month when a mortar shell hit their home in North Waziristan district of the province.
