PESHAWAR: The anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Peshawar has indicted the former provincial minister of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Kamran Bangash, in a firing case at a police team.
The hearing was conducted by Judge Asadullah, where Kamran Bangash denied the charges. The court has summoned prosecution witnesses and adjourned the hearing until January 20.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on December 20, 2023, when police from Chamkani Station raided Kamran Bangash’s guesthouse to arrest PTI leader Murad Saeed, who was hiding there.
During the raid, Kamran Bangash and others allegedly opened fire on the police, injuring two officers.
The police registered a terrorism case, completed the investigation, and submitted the challan to the court. Following the indictment, the trial has officially commenced.
