ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Chief Imran Khan has warned to start a civil disobedience movement.
Taking to his X, Khan accused the government of turning Pakistan into a dictatorship. He said that peaceful political workers have been attacked, and many remain missing following Nov 26 PTI protest.
“The Supreme Court must now take notice and fulfill its constitutional role. Previously, we approached the Supreme Court, Lahore High Court, and Islamabad High Court over severe human rights violations, but no action was taken,” Khan added.
Khan further announced a public gathering in Peshawar on December 13 to honour those who lost their lives during the protest. He has also invited opposition parties to join.

Imran Khan’s demands
Khan presented two key demands: the release of under-trial political prisoners and a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26. He also formed a five-member committee to negotiate with stakeholders.
“If these demands are ignored, we will begin a civil disobedience movement on December 14,” Imran Khan warned. Khan urged overseas Pakistanis to limit remittances and hinted at further actions in the second phase of the movement.
