Punjab Excise Department has implemented a compulsory online verification system for the documentation of imported vehicles to ensure the integrity of vehicle registrations and to prevent the use of counterfeit documents.

As a result, the registration of imported vehicles in Lahore and across Punjab is now prohibited unless their documents have been verified online beforehand.

Moreover, an official letter has been sent to customs authorities, seeking access to their online verification systems for the documentation of imported vehicles.

In addition, this collaboration is intended to streamline the registration process, guaranteeing that only vehicles with authentic paperwork are approved for registration.

Furthermore, customs officials have stressed that vehicles acquired through auctions will also need verification before registration to prevent the illegal registration of vehicles with forged documents.
