The Sindh government has unveiled a new initiative, “Sasti Basti,” designed to offer affordable housing to low-income residents across the province.

The announcement was made during the 29th Governing Body meeting of the Human Settlement Authority’s annual budget, chaired by Najmi Alam, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Human Settlement Authority, Livestock, and Fisheries.

Present at the meeting were MPA Muhammad Yusuf Baloch, MPA Aruba Rabbani, and senior officials from Hyderabad and Sukkur. The gathering approved both the annual budget and the minutes from the previous meeting.

Najmi Alam highlighted that the “Sasti Basti” project is in line with the vision of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto, aiming to provide homes for the underprivileged in Sindh. Alongside this initiative, the meeting also endorsed the hiring of demolition squads to tackle encroachments in slum areas across the province.

The “Sasti Basti” initiative has been announced shortly after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the “Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar” program, another effort aimed at offering affordable housing to the residents of Punjab.
