ISLAMABAD: In response to the tragic death of a 7-year-old girl in Islamabad, police have intensified crackdowns on kite flying in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, leading to the arrest of 23 suspects.
The arrests followed operations in Islamabad and 39 raids in Rawalpindi and adjacent areas, targeting key areas known for kite-flying activities. Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi directed the crackdown, citing flying kites as a threat to human life.
The police spokesman emphasised a zero-tolerance policy, stating that officers overseeing regions where kite flying persists will face serious repercussions.
