A major change has been introduced for those riding motorcycles without licenses. Now, individuals no longer need to wait for a learner’s permit before applying for a motorcycle driving license.

CTO Ammara Athar announced that the previous requirement to wait 42 days after getting a learner’s permit before applying for a driving license has been removed for a limited time.

With this new rule, people can now take the driving test and receive their license immediately after getting their learner’s permit. This change aims to streamline the process and promote legal compliance.

Ammara Athar also stated that the fine for driving without a license is 2,000 rupees. Under the new system, motorcycle licenses can be issued for one, two, or five years.

To enhance transparency, cash transactions at licensing centers have been stopped. People only need to bring their identification card to get their license. Furthermore, all licensing procedures will be recorded with audio and video to ensure clarity and accountability.
