The creators of the acclaimed horror film “Shaitaan” (2024) have also commenced work on its sequel, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.

The development establishes Ajay Devgn as the only Indian actor involved in a total of eight film franchises.

According to media reports, the writing for “Shaitaan 2” is already in progress. The script is expected to be finalised before the film’s production schedule is determined. Given the first film’s significant success and acclaim, the creators are taking their time to perfect the script before moving forward.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has shared a heartwarming video announcing the start of filming for “Son Of Sardaar 2” in the United Kingdom. The video has been well received, confirming that the sequel to the popular action comedy is underway.

The reports further indicate that with both “Shaitaan 2” and “Son Of Sardaar 2,” Ajay Devgn has achieved a unique status as the lead actor in the most number of successful film franchises in Indian cinema. His franchises span various genres, including action, drama, romance, and comedy.

Ajay Devgn’s eight franchise films include:

  • Golmaal (4 films)
  • Singham (2 films, with appearances in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe films “Simbaa” and “Sooryavanshi”)
  • Dhamaal (3 films, including an appearance in “Total Dhamaal”)
  • Drishyam (2 films)
  • Raid (with a sequel expected this year)
  • De De Pyaar De (sequel set to release on May 1, 2025)
  • Son Of Sardaar
  • Shaitaan

The reports noted that the global trend of franchise films remains strong, with audiences eager to see their favorite actors reprise iconic roles. Ajay Devgn’s consistent delivery of successful franchise projects keeps fans engaged and builds anticipation for future installments.

Additionally, work on “Drishyam 3” is progressing, with a formal announcement expected once the details are finalised.
