Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, the central secretary-general of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), announced that the party will not endorse any constitutional amendments that violate fundamental rights.

In a media briefing, Haidri highlighted JUI-F’s clear stance on constitutional reforms, asserting, “We have protected the nation from significant challenges.” He urged that the Constitution should not be treated lightly, stating that if amendments are to be made, proper procedures must be followed.

He dismissed the relevance of ordinances within the constitution, declaring they should only be used temporarily. Haidri highlighted the dire situation in Balochistan, pointing out that local youth are taking drastic measures like blocking highways due to federal control over provincial resources.

He warned that using force will only exacerbate issues, advocating for serious attention to the genuine demands of both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Addressing the ongoing lawlessness, he noted that kidnappings are rampant in remote areas, where government authority is virtually absent. He concluded by stating that government officials have admitted the administration is failing and called for immediate, transparent elections, as the current government cannot continue.
