The Chairman of PTA attributed the slow internet speeds in the country to faults in the submarine cables. He added that efforts are underway to attract new companies through this auction to expand the market and increase competition.

Major General (R) Hafeez Rehman also noted that the restoration process of the submarine cables is ongoing and is expected to be completed by August 27. Despite the upgrade in internet services, no further disruptions are anticipated, which should improve the quality of internet services for users.
