Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur has finally arrived at KP House in Islamabad with security.
Earlier, the police tried to stop him and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers from entering Islamabad.
Security tightened at Nawaz Sharif’s Jati Umra residence
Security has been beefed up at Jati Umra, the residence of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore ahead of PTI Lahore protest.
As per details, the routes leading to Jati Umra from Adda Plot have been blocked with containers.
PTI is set to protest in Lahore today, as the Punjab government sealed Minar-e-Pakistan.
Over 10,000 security personnel have been deployed in Lahore to maintain law and order.
In this regard, Section 144 has been enforced in Lahore, slapping a ban on rallies, gatherings, sit-ins and other political activities.
PTI vs police in Islamabad
The police and PTI workers are face to face at No. 26 in Islamabad.
It is pertinent to mention that PTI has announced to protest in different cities to demand a cut in inflation, independence of judiciary and release of party founder Imran Khan.
More than 80 PTI workers arrested in Islamabad as shelling continues
The police have arrested more than 80 PTI workers amid the ongoing protest at D-chowk, Islamabad.
The party’s founder Iman Khan’s sister were also arrested.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Gandapur is “crossing all the lines” now.
Responding to a question regarding reports of “imposition of emergency” the minister said that he is in contact with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari, and whatever strategy they devise will be followed.
Case registered against PTI workers:
A case has been registered against PTI workers at Sadiqabad police station for rioting in Faizabad.
17 PTI workers have been named in the case, which also includes anti-terror provisions, along with 250 unidentified workers.
