CONNECTICUT: John Cena is set to retire in 2025 and it has sparked discussions among WWE stars about his legacy and potential final matches.
Cena has managed to tie Ric Flair with a record of 16 World Title wins, and many, including legends from the golden days, want to convince him to go for a 17th before retirement.
‘John Cena should break the record’
WWE Hall of Famer JBL wished to see Cena gain one more World Title before hanging it up, saying it would be a “historic” moment.
JBL was defeated by Cena for his first World Title in 2005. He further said that he admires the broad scope of the entire career for comparison with basketball’s greatest, Dr. J.

“Hope he gets the seventeenth championship,” JBL said. “It would be cool to see that broken. It’d be fun and historic. Just hate it that he’s retiring.”
Who could be John Cena’s last opponent?
Now that Cena’s retirement is drawing closer, Kurt Angle mentioned that Roman Reigns might be the one to retire Cena, with their match probably being for one of the world championships in WWE.
The two last faced each other in SummerSlam 2021, where Reigns defended his Universal Championship successfully.
