Beenish Fatima has made history by being named the first woman Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) in Rawalpindi.

She assumed the charge of her office on Friday and urged traffic wardens to ensure enforcement of laws.

Overall, she would be the third woman to be appointed at this post in Punjab as Ammara Athar currently holds the post of CTO Lahore and Aisha Butt serves as CTO Gujranwala.

The daughter-in-law of the former IG police is the first women CTO in Rawalpindi since the establishment of the City Traffic Police in 2007.

CTO Taimoor Khan, who has been in office since November 18, 2022, officially stepped down from his position.
