“A video that went online recently caught my eyes. The crying voice of a rickshaw driver brother’s child in the anti-discriminatory student movement after his father was killed has made me think again and again. I vowed to stand by my brother’s family. I promised that I will hand over the money for the ‘Man of the Series’ award in Pakistan,” Mehidy wrote in a post.

Mehidy was in stupendous form as Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series. He scored 155 runs at an average of 77.50 and a strike-rate of 51.15 with two half-centuries to his name.

Bangladesh will now play its first Test match against India on September 19.
