Aparshakti Khurana has ignited a debate by suggesting that Shraddha Kapoor’s disproportionate acclaim for the success of Stree 2 is a result of strategic public relations efforts.
Despite Kapoor’s relatively smaller role compared to key cast members Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi, she has garnered significant recognition, which Khurana attributes to effective PR campaigns.
Currently enjoying the success of the horror-comedy Stree 2, Aparshakti Khurana expressed his excitement about the film’s performance. However, when asked about the ongoing dispute over credit for the film’s success, particularly involving Shraddha Kapoor, he described the PR dynamics as “unpleasant.”
In an interview with Zoom TV, Khurana said, “This is a PR game. If your channel goes and asks the audience on the street, are they saying this? I want to know that. So, this is a PR game, I don’t want to comment on it. I love each and every actor of my film. I am attached to them. In such a happy space, where the film has gotten so much love and success, this can come across as slightly unpleasant.”

He added, “It shouldn’t have happened now, when everyone is in a happy space, celebrating the film. Amidst that, when this happens, then you have to also take a side, but I don’t want that. They are all equally close to me and I respect their journeys. Someone can dance well, act well, look well, or maybe do PR well. So there exists talent of all kinds, which help you in your journey. I wouldn’t call PR my most strong part.”
Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, has grossed Rs 401.65 crore at the domestic box office within 11 days of its release. The film is on track to surpass Rs 500 crore, with a strong possibility of becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film, potentially overtaking Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which earned over Rs 550 crore in Hindi and around Rs 650 crore including Tamil and Telugu versions domestically.
