LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed legal action against a Nikah Khawaan for officiating the marriage of a minor girl. Justice Anwar-ul-Haq Pannu presided over the case, which was brought to the court by Humaira Bibi.

The minor, who had been staying at Dar-ul-Aman, appeared in court. Humaira Bibi, the petitioner, claimed that the girl, aged 15, was forced into marriage. When Justice Pannu questioned the girl, she stated that she had married of her own free will and estimated her age to be around 15 or 16.
