ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has officially announced a public holiday on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day.
A notification issued by the Cabinet Division confirms that all government and semi-government offices will remain closed across the country.
In line with the government’s decision, the State Bank of Pakistan has also announced a holiday, meaning all banking services will remain suspended on February 5.
Additionally, courts in Rawalpindi, including session, civil, family, and high courts, will not operate on this day.
Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will remain closed throughout the country. Markets, business centres, and various commercial establishments will also shut down as part of the nationwide observance.
The Sindh government had already declared February 5 as a public holiday last week, issuing a notification confirming that all government and semi-government offices in the province would remain closed.
The federal government had earlier released a complete holiday calendar for the year 2025, which included February 5 as a nationwide holiday. Every year, Pakistan observes Kashmir Solidarity Day with rallies, speeches, and special programs to highlight the Kashmir issue.
