Power outage hits Murree

Murree experienced a major power outage after a 132 kV main line tripped, plunging areas like Mall Road, Jhika Gali, Bhurban, and Expressway into darkness.

The blackout has caused significant inconvenience for both locals and tourists.

According to Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) officials, the tripping of the main line disrupted power supply, and field teams are working on repairs, though restoration might take some time.

Power outage in Gwadar

Meanwhile, Gwadar also faced a power breakdown due to a technical fault at its grid station.

Areas connected to the grid, including Surbandar and Nagore, have also been affected. Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) officials have called technicians from Turbat to address the issue.

The prolonged outages in both cities have created severe difficulties for residents, while efforts are underway to restore power as soon as possible.

Section 144 in Murree

Some days back, Section 144 was imposed in the station. However, now it has been lifted.

Earlier, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued a traffic advisory for tourists heading to Murree District, following heavy rain and snowfall.

Visitors are encouraged to work with local officials and keep safety first when they travel to Murree, mostly in bad weather.

Tourists are urged to pack supplies such as tire chains, blankets, and dried food.

Earlier, the district authorities closed Naran, situated in the Kaghan Valley, and the road leading to the Babusar Top for tourists due to heavy snowfall in the region.
