Concerts in Lahore postponed due to heavy smog

The concerts and food-related events in Lahore are getting postponed due to the thick and heavy smog in the city.

Earlier in the day, the Pakistani band Kaavish postponed their concert which was set to held at Alhamra Council in the last week of November in Lahore.

In a post, the band said that “due to the weather conditions in Lahore, we are holding off ticket sales for a few days to evaluate the situation in terms of weather and possible event bans in the city. Tickets are not going on sale until further notice.”

The tickets were supposed to go on live at 9pm.

Prior to this, SoulFestival in Lahore rescheduled for December, exact dates will be announced later.

However, the festival in Islamabad and Karachi remained unaffected.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lahore consistently reaches hazardous levels, with scores spiking as high as 2000 in some areas.

In Lahore, a ban on heavy vehicles was imposed under the Environment Protection Act 1997 and the ban will remain in effect from November 8, 2024, to January 31, 2025. Action will be taken under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code in case of violations.

5- When indoors, close windows and other inlets of air

6- Reduce your contribution to pollution by avoiding driving and smokin

Every winter, smog in Lahore gets intense mainly due to crop burning but the problem is getting worse with each passing year.
