The Poultry Association has promised the Punjab government that chicken prices will be reduced in the coming days.
The assurance came during a meeting between Minister of Livestock Ashiq Hussain and Poultry Association representatives. They reviewed the chicken supply chain and pricing, discussing strategies to establish a price-setting mechanism.
The briefing revealed that chicken prices have surged by up to Rs200 per kg over the past ten days. Poultry Association representatives shared their challenges and concerns with the provincial minister.

Minister Ashiq Hussain promised to address legitimate issues promptly and emphasized that the Chief Minister wants pricing decisions made with stakeholder input.
The Poultry Association pledged to reduce the chicken price to Rs600 per kilogram within two days. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed concern over the artificially inflated chicken prices and has called for a meeting to address the issue.
