WEB DESK: Pakistan authorities have made significant strides in combating illegal immigration, as more than 53,000 fake computerised national identity cards have been unearthed during a nationwide crackdown.
According to an investigation led by the Federal Ministry of Interior, suspicions were raised regarding 595 vehicles registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, suspected to be linked with illegal foreigners returning home from Pakistan.
Legal actions have been initiated against 7,500 individuals holding fake identity cards, including measures such as blocking mobile phone SIM cards and arranging for their repatriation after identifying their properties and businesses.

Furthermore, the investigation has revealed 349 undeclared properties and businesses registered in the names of foreigners, which have been forwarded to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for further scrutiny.
In a parallel move, the Ministry of Interior has made the decision to deport illegal Tajik residents residing in the country.
Additionally, investigations have been completed on 2,343 suspicious bank accounts held by Afghan nationals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
