ISLAMABAD: Pakitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has hinted at reconsidering a walkout from the talks if the government announced the formation of the judicial commission.
Talking outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, he said that 7 days were enough to announce the commission.
He said that Imran Khan, founding chairman of the PTI, has put the talks on hold. He said that they were holding talks with an open heart.
“We had put forward only 2 demands, and a 7-day deadline was enough for the formation of the commission but there is no progress from the government side,” he said.
Barrister Gohar responded to today’s joint sitting of the parliament by saying that the PTI will not support today’s legislation. According to the joint sitting agenda, the government will table 8 bills for approval.
Barrister Gohar said that one of these eight bills has been pending since 2021, five are from 2023, and two have been pending since 2024.
Yesterday, the PTI founding chairman Imran Khan announced an end of the talks with the government.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar said that Imran Khan had earlier given the government 7 days to form of inquiry commission. quoting PTI founder, Barrister Gohar said that since the judicial commission has not been formed, there will be no talks, and the talks were ended due to the government’s lack of cooperation.
