In a video message released by Punjab Police media cell, the father of a girl involved in the recent Punjab College rape incident has denied claims of rape, stating that his daughter was injured in a fall.

He further said that medical reports have been submitted to the police, clarifying the situation.

The father expressed concern over the distress caused by the widespread false claims, urging people to refrain from associating his daughter’s name with the alleged rape.

Meanwhile Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lahore Shehar Bano Naqvi, also featured in the video, called for restraint, urging the public to avoid spreading misinformation that could harm the family’s reputation. She stressed the importance of being mindful of the nation’s delicate situation, warning that spreading baseless rumors could destabilise the law and order situation.

What happened to the student inside Punjab College?

In a tragic incident that took place in Lahore, a female student was allegedly raped on the college premises by a security guard named Aun and is currently fighting for her life in the ICU.

The student is in her first year at Punjab College, Lahore.

Her cries were heard by a male teacher, who eventually found and rescued her.

Reports suggest that the guard had a history of inappropriate behavior with female staff, raising questions about why action wasn’t taken earlier.

After the news went viral, the police arrested the guard. The police managed to arrest the accused within 10 hours of the incident from another city – the outskirts of Lahore.

Protest against rape incident

Despite growing concerns, the college administration is allegedly pressuring students to remain silent, prioritising their reputation over transparency. This has prompted students to protest against the administration.

An alleged message circulating on social media in which the administration has strongly advised against participating in the protest.

The college warned that students and their parents who take part will face suspension, however, many are willing to join.

Students have urged the public to participate in the protest, which will take place today (Monday) in front of the college campus in Gulberg.

Aurat March statement

Aurat March Lahore has expressed solidarity with the students, demanding justice, accountability, and lasting safety measures on campus.

The organisation criticised the Punjab college management, urging that educational institutions must confront incidents of harassment and assault head-on, rather than silencing victims and stifling critical voices.
