Toyota Yaris: Price Surge Leaves Buyers Wondering

WEB DESK: Indus Motor Company (IMC) has introduced the Toyota Yaris Facelift model, with prices increasing from Rs 144,000 to Rs 606,000.

According to the details in the report, in mid-March, Indus Motors had reduced the prices of various models of Yaris by Rs 73,000 to Rs. 133,000, so that their prices could be kept below Rs. 400,000, excluding General Sales Tax.

Furthermore, IMC has issued an advance notice to authorized dealers that the prices of Toyota Yaris GLi MT/AT 1.3, CVT 1.3, A/T IVI MT/AT 1.3, and A/T IVI CVT 1.3 will be increased to Rs 4,479,000, Rs 4,760,000, Rs 4,730,000, and Rs 5,604,000 respectively, which were previously available at Rs 4,326,000, Rs 4,616,000, Rs 4,586,000, and Rs 4,766,000.

In addition, the price of the Yaris booking has been increased to Rs 1.5 million.

During the initial 10 months of 2024, car sales remained sluggish. Still, after the relaxation in restrictions on imports by the State Bank of Pakistan, the revenue of CKD increased, which brightened hopes.

According to the statistics of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the revenue of CKD cars reached up to Rs 72 million in April, which was Rs 60 million in April, $50 million in February, and $37 million in January, indicating improvement in car bookings.

Automotive parts expert Mashood Ali Khan said that the increasing trend in CKD kits’ revenue indicates an improvement in sales.

He said that if the government agrees to the demands of assemblers to restrict imports of used cars, then this industry can demonstrate better performance in the financial year 2025.
