Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has retained its number one spot in Pakistan as determined by the Times Higher Education World Rankings 2025.

The Times Higher Education Rankings, commonly referred to as THE Rankings, is a globally recognized publication of university rankings compiled by the Times Higher Education magazine on an annual basis.
The QAU is placed among the top 401-500 universities in the latest world university rankings from Times Higher Education.


Similarly, QS World University Rankings has placed QAU on the 315th spot in its latest rankings.
QAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar on Wednesday congratulated university staff, teachers and students on retaining the top spot among Pakistani universities in the Times Higher Education World Rankings 2025.


“QAU has made unprecedented strides in global university rankings despite facing numerous financial challenges over the last couple of years,” Prof Dr Niaz said.


The Vice Chancellor called on the government and Higher Education Commission to extend their support to QAU so it could cement its place among the top 200 universities in the world.


“QAU has every bit of capability to contribute towards Pakistan’s economic growth,” he said.
