WEB DESK: Samsung Electronics is gearing up to expand its AI Subscription Club, initially introduced in December 2024 for home appliances in South Korea, to Galaxy smartphones and its upcoming Ballie AI robot.

This strategic move aims to provide consumers with advanced technology at a lower upfront cost, paired with a subscription-based payment model.

According to ETNews, Han Jong-hee, vice-chair of Samsung Electronics confirmed that starting next month, the subscription service would cover Galaxy smartphones. Ballie AI robot revealed first five years ago, was to be launched as part of a subscription in South Korea and the US.

What’s Included?

AI Subscription Club currently features AI-powered home appliances like TVs, refrigerators and washing machines, providing maintenance services and repair benefits. Smartphones and Ballie have not yet fully revealed the information, but similar features might be expected.

Free access until 2025

Samsung clarified that users will not be required to subscribe to this service to experience AI features on their Galaxy smartphones. These would remain free for all users until the end of 2025, and plans are undecided.

Samsung’s much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, could give details on this particular subscription model and how it integrates with flagship devices like the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung still has to officially announce the availability of the AI Subscription Club as an option for smartphones or Ballie out of South Korea, but experts in the industry claim that subscription models would definitely be one way for the company to reach a wider global audience.
