Sindh announces new routes for People’s Bus Service

Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, in a meeting to address public transport issues in Karachi, announced new routes for the People’s Bus Service.

In a meeting attended by elected MPAs from Karachi, the deputy mayor, and other officials, it was decided to expand the routes of the bus service in the port city.

During the meeting, it was announced that the new routes of the People’s Bus Service will cover areas in Malir, Kemari, Lyari, and district West of Karachi. Sharjeel Memon emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing public transport services to better serve the people of the city.

During the previous transport department meeting, the minister received a comprehensive briefing on the progress of various projects, including the construction of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, traffic signals, and the reconstruction of bus terminals.

Furthermore, plans for the construction of a U-turn specifically for the People’s Bus Service were discussed in detail. In addition, plans were made to alleviate traffic congestion in central areas of Hyderabad by constructing a parking plaza.

Furthermore, the transport minister received updates on the completion of construction work for eight bus terminals. It was reported that the construction of these terminals has been finalized, and they are scheduled to become operational by June.
