In a standout performance, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan achieved a hat-trick on his Lanka Premier League (LPL) debut for Colombo Strikers.

Playing against Kandy Falcons in Pallekelle, the 25-year-old showcased his skill by dismissing Kandy’s skipper Wanindu Hasaranga, Salman Ali Agha, and Pavan Rathnayake in consecutive deliveries.

Shadab Khan’s hat-trick began with the dismissal of Hasaranga on the fourth ball of the 15th over, followed by Agha and Rathnayake on the next two deliveries.

His impressive bowling performance led to figures of 4/22, helping his team bowl out Kandy Falcons for 147 in 15.5 overs.

Earlier, the Colombo Strikers set a challenging target by scoring 198 for seven in their 20 overs. Key contributions included 48 off 26 balls from Sadeera Samarawickrama and 38 off 30 deliveries from Thisara Perera.

Shadab Khan also played a valuable innings, adding 20 runs off 17 balls, while Chamika Karunaratne chipped in with 25 runs off just 10 deliveries.

In response, Kandy Falcons were unable to meet the target and were bowled out for 147, resulting in a 51-run victory for Colombo Strikers.
