PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat arrested and released amid clash with Islamabad police

Islamabad Police briefly detained PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat after accusing him of assaulting officers, injuring them, and tearing a police uniform.

Moreover, Marwat countered, claiming that the police attacked him and his supporters.

In addition, following a call for protests by Marwat, police detained him and moved him to Golra police station, confirming the arrest via his Twitter account.

However, he was later released after assuring authorities that he would not incite unrest. PTI had earlier postponed a planned rally in Islamabad, citing government disruptions, while police in Lahore detained PTI members attempting to travel to the capital.

Furthermore, the situation escalated as containers blocked main roads, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
