The Sindh government has approved a new health insurance policy aimed at providing comprehensive medical coverage for police personnel and their families.
The move comes after the Sindh Cabinet’s decision, and the Finance Department is set to release the necessary funds for the initiative in the near future.
The policy was discussed at a meeting held at the Central Police Office, chaired by Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. During the session, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Finance provided an overview of the plan, announcing that health cards would soon be issued to all police officers by the selected insurance company.
NADRA collaboration for family verification
In an effort to ensure accurate coverage, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will assist in verifying the family details of police officers. This step is designed to guarantee that the medical benefits extend to the intended recipients.

Meanwhile, IG Sindh stressed the importance of making police personnel fully aware of the new health insurance policy and how to access its benefits. To achieve this, district and unit officers have been instructed to launch awareness programs across the province.
Furthermore, training sessions on how to use the health insurance scheme will commence immediately, ensuring both officers and their families are well-informed about the coverage.
