The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has implemented new guidelines for National Sports Federations to ensure a merit-based selection process for athletes representing Pakistan in international sports events.
The PSB stated that the new regulations are intended to enhance transparency and accountability in the athlete selection process for global competitions.
Under the updated protocols, federations are now required to submit a “Player Profile Proforma” when applying for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for international events. This form must outline each athlete’s achievements, credentials, and the rationale behind their selection. Additionally, federations must provide a formal certification affirming that selections were made based solely on merit.

Furthermore, federations are mandated to submit a “Post-Event Evaluation Form” after each international event concludes.
Both the Player Profile Proforma and the Post-Event Evaluation Form will be published on the PSB’s website in the new “Foreign Sports Events” section to ensure greater transparency.
A PSB spokesman indicated that these measures aim to guarantee that athlete selections by national federations are equitable, merit-based, and free from bias.
