WEB DESK: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that he does not accept PTI as a legitimate political party, and opposed the ban on PTI while talking to the media on Friday.
He mentioned the ongoing crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the region’s deteriorated law and order became high with more than 100 lives lost, while no notice had been taken from the leadership of PTI, who were engaged in protest in Islamabad.
“Instead of focusing on the dire situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI has been consumed by its attempts to disrupt Islamabad. The party generated empty buzz and loquacity for its November 24 protest but hardly created a ground presence,” remarked Shah.
On this ground, and despite the state’s security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he was against the imposition of the governor’s rule and added that if PTI claims to be the ruling party, how does it even believe it would govern well at the federal level?
In further political posturing, Shah downplayed Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s assertions and issued it as a rejoinder to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief because the 26th Constitutional Amendment had recently been passed with all provisions claimed by Fazl. He wanted further clarification from Fazl regarding which provisions he thought had been missed in the amendment.
