WEB DESK: Addressing the role of Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI’s chairman, Khawaja Asif stated that there were no contacts between her and the establishment, except during PTI’s attempted assault on Islamabad.
He disclosed that Bushra Bibi violated an “understanding” reached between the PTI chairman and a delegation that visited Adiala Jail. According to the minister, she aspired to emerge as a leader, hoping that capturing D-Chowk would secure her position.
He has dismissed claims of any backdoor contacts between political leaders and the establishment, emphasizing that PTI is desperate to regain power. Speaking on a private news channel’s program, he highlighted several pressing issues and made significant revelations about recent political developments.
Peshawar violence and misuse of national wealth
Commenting on the unrest in Parachinar over the past four months, Khawaja Asif remarked that the events are now fully exposed to the public. He accused Ali Amin Gandapur of attacking Islamabad, equating it to an attack on the federation. The minister alleged that PTI misused national resources during its tenure for personal gains. He further revealed that funds from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were diverted to a lobbyist, a claim actively discussed on social media.
Backdoor connections of Ali Amin Gandapur
Khawaja Asif also raised concerns over Ali Amin Gandapur’s alleged backdoor dealings, pointing out his official position as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The minister suggested that such connections pose serious questions about his role in the political landscape.
The defense minister’s statements highlight the ongoing tensions in Pakistan’s political sphere, as PTI continues its efforts to regain influence.
