Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Defence Shehrbano Naqvi on Thursday while commenting about the alleged Punjab college rape incident said that why would police become pro-rape?
Shehrbano Naqvi, while talking to Azaad Siasat, said that the incident at Punjab College’s alleged rape case is based on misinformation.
She added, ‘We are the ones who have created female anti-harassment cells.”
Speaking about the CCTV footage of the incident, Naqvi added that if there are concerns, forensic analysis will be conducted on the footage to determine if it has been tampered with.
Maryam Nawaz’s statement
Punjab Chief (CM) Minister Maryam Nawaz said on Wednesday that the narrative surrounding the alleged rape case at a private college in Lahore is fabricated.
During a press conference in Lahore, she added that a false story has been transformed into a significant issue, one that never existed in reality.
Maryam Nawaz added, “There was an attempt to mislead the police and initiate a campaign. After repeated failures to organize protests, they devised a dangerous plan. The girl’s mother emphasized that it is your responsibility to expose the conspirators.”
