Zardari vows PPP will resolve national crises

WEB DESK: President Asif Ali Zardari has reiterated the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) unwavering commitment to the safety and stability of the federation. Addressing a large public gathering on the occasion of the 17th death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, President Zardari highlighted the PPP’s resolve to lead Pakistan out of the current challenges.

“Pakistan is going through tempestuous times, but the PPP will take the country through all crises,” Zardari remarked to the audience in Garhi Khuda Baksh. The event’s purpose was to pay homage to the legacy of Benazir Bhutto. But it became an even bigger audience reflection of being undeterred about the Bhutto family and its political vision.

Zardari cited the steps by which he perceives PPP leaders to have been sacrificed, such as the unjust execution of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, citing the trial leading up to that event as one marred with legal flaws. “Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged in a fake trial the legal requirements of the trial were not fulfilled”, he remarked.

Appreciating the people’s role in his political journey, the president acknowledged the citizens, saying: “If I am president today, it is because of you.” He assured the citizens that the government of the PPP stands accountable to the people, adding, “We have to save Pakistan and the Federation, and we will take Pakistan out of this difficult situation.”
