RAWALPINDI: At least 6 soldiers were martyred and 22 terrorists killed in three separate encounters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the military’s wing said in a statement on Saturday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the engagements took place in Tank, North Waziristan, and Thall districts from December 6 to 7.
As per the statement, troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on their reported presence in the Gul Imam area of the Tank district.
As a result, 9 terrorists were sent to hell while six others got injured, the ISPR added.
In another operation, security forces successfully eliminated 10 khawarij in North Waziristan.
Similarly, in a third engagement, the security forces thwarted terrorists’ attempt to attack a check post in Thall district, which resulted in the killing of three more terrorists.
However, six soldiers, having fought gallantly, paid the sacrifice and embraced shahadat during the intense exchange of fire, the statement read.
“Sanitisation operations were launched to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.”
