KARACHI: The Sindh government has planned to establish 3,000 primary schools in remote regions to improve access to education.

The massive school project is an initiative of the Non-Formal Literacy Education Project. It will be carried out with support from non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

In the first phase, schools will be opened in Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Kashmore, and Jacobabad. The Sindh School Education Department will provide financial support, while NGOs will manage operations, including providing buildings, textbooks, and uniforms.

Key officials to finalise school project details

A meeting to finalise the project is set for December 9. It will be chaired by Chief Education Development and Planning Officer Sarfaraz at the office of the Director of Non-Formal Literacy Education.

Senior officials including Deputy Secretaries Muhammad Azeem and Ashraf Hussain Ansari will also attend the meeting to plan the further steps.
