WEBDESK: The Meteorological Department has announced rain across Lahore and various districts of Punjab from Thursday, January 2, to January 6. Humidity levels are expected to reach as high as 94%, adding to the chilly weather conditions.
As the new year begins, Lahore experiences cold temperatures. The current temperature stands at 9°C, with a minimum of 8°C and a maximum of 18°C expected. Winds are moving at a speed of 5 km/h, making the city feel even colder.
Despite the cool weather, Lahore ranks as the third most polluted city in Pakistan, recording an average smog level of 219. The situation highlights the persistent challenge of air quality in the provincial capital.
Intermittent rain is expected in the northern and upper parts of the country, with snowfall forecasted in Murree, Galyat, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and northern regions. The arrival of westerly winds will lead to thundershowers, which could make the weather bitterly cold.
Tourists planning to visit these areas have been advised to check the weather forecasts before traveling to avoid disruptions caused by snowfall and slippery roads.
