ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday hailed the Pakistan Navy (PN) for its successful anti-narcotics operation in the North Arabian Sea.
In a statement issued from the Prime Minister’s House, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Navy Ship Moawin seized a drug haul worth one million dollars. He described it as a significant milestone in the anti-narcotics campaign.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the Navy’s central role in maritime defence and prevention of drug smuggling on sea routes. He said the nation is proud of the personnel of the Pakistan Navy.
Navy Ship Moawin seized a large quantity of narcotics in the North Arabian Sea in an intelligence-based operation.
The seized illicit drugs have an estimated international market value of around one million US dollars.
The operation was conducted with the help of naval air assets.
Pakistan Navy Ship Moawin conducted a boarding operation on a suspicious boat and seized hidden narcotics.
The drugs were concealed in secret compartments of the boat. Their estimated international market value is around one million US dollars.
The consignment was being smuggled via sea routes to international destinations.

The PN remains vigilant in preventing illegal activities in the region’s maritime boundaries.
The seized drugs have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further proceedings.
