LAHORE: Multiple motorways in different parts of the Punjab province have been temporarily closed on Sunday as severe fog and smog have reduced visibility.

According to the Motorway Police, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Momen has been completely closed to all types of traffic.  The Motorway M3 is not accessible for traffic from Lahore to Darkhana.

Further disruptions are reported on Motorway M4, which is closed from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem.  The Motorway M5 route from Multan to Sukkur is closed for traffic.

M11 Sialkot Motorway to Sambrial have been closed due to reduced visibility due to smog and fog.

The Motorway Police Spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed said that the motorways would be reopened once the fog and smog subside and visibility improves.

“The motorways have been closed to ensure public safety and provide a secure travel environment. Travellers should prioritise their safety and avoid risks,” said the spokesperson.
