Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has made a significant move to enhance traffic standards in Lahore by allocating distinct lanes for cyclists and motorcyclists.

The Lahore Development Authority has launched a pilot project for designated lanes in the city.

These designated lanes will enhance the safety of cyclists and motorcyclists, reducing accidents.

In the first phase, bike lanes are being constructed on Ferozepur Road, from Canal Road to Lahore Bridge. It will be 10-kilometer stretch painted in a vibrant green color.

Many Lahoris celebrated the news.

Residents believe that the implementation of these modern global bike lane concepts will reduce accidents and improve traffic flow. Maryam Nawaz has instructed that the construction quality of the bike lanes should be of the highest standard.

Recently, despite the new underpasses and roads in Lahore, the traffic situation has worsened significantly across the city.

Traffic in areas of Punjab was severely disrupted when thick fog forced the closure of major sections of motorways.

To protect the safety of drivers, portions of the M2, M11, and M5 motorways were closed, according to a statement from the motorway police.

The M2 stretch from Lahore to Hiran Minar, the M11 stretch from Sialkot to Lahore, and the M5 stretch from Rahim Yar Khan to Rohri are among the impacted locations.
