A decision was made by the cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to transform the government’s MI-17 helicopter into an air ambulance by giving its approval.

Barrister Saif, a spokesperson for the KP administration, has stated that the official helicopter of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur will undergo repairs costing Rs300 million in order to be converted into an air ambulance helicopter. According to what he said, the provincial aviation unit would receive funding for this program from the department of finance.

He made the remark that “the Chief Minister has dedicated his helicopter for public service,” and in addition, he mentioned that it is already being utilised for the delivery of medicines and the evacuation of individuals who are stuck in Kurram.

Air Ambulance in Punjab

In accordance with the directions of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, the very first successful air ambulance transfer was carried out from Mianwali to Rawalpindi. This transfer took place in the previous year.

A woman named Halima Bibi, who had fallen from a rooftop in Mianwali and been disabled as a result of her fall, was swiftly evacuated.

Aircraft are intended to fly from runways that are relatively small in length. As an additional feature, they will be able to land and take off from national highways and highways.
