ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that PTI workers opened straight fire on law enforcement agencies.

Addressing a press conference along with Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IGP said that any kind of terrorist act in the name of protest will not be tolerated. “Enough was enough. We will not allow terrorism under the guise of protest.”

He said that everyone has the right to protest. He questioned what kind of protest is this in which direct firing is being restored on law enforcement agencies.

Ali Nasir Rizvi says that terrorism was being done under the guise of protest. He said that 610 protesters were arrested yesterday while more than 200 vehicles were seized.

The protesters had brought weapons. There was no difference between protest and terrorism, he said.

IG Islamabad said that 3 Rangers personnel were martyred, they are also going to the houses in which these vehicles were parked, the presence of foreign residents among the protesters is a matter of concern.

He also said that 19 Afghan citizens were arrested yesterday. No Afghan citizen is allowed to stay in Islamabad without an NOC. It is not possible for Afghan citizens to stay in Islamabad and carry out terrorist activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that no Afghan resident will stay in Islamabad until security clearance is obtained.

He said that no business can be done if there is no government writ, there is a court decision, there is a procedure to hold a protest in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, addressing a media presser today, the IGP said that 167 cameras set up were destroyed by the protesters so that their visuals could not be found.

The Chief Commissioner said that PTI was told to protest on Sangjani.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that containers have been removed from Islamabad, search operations will continue there, any foreigner who creates a problem of law and order will not be able to stay in Pakistan.
